Think More Effectively - Optimize your Life

Now that you've seen the video, (if you haven't, just click yes to install the quicktime viewer) I want to go a bit more in depth on this idea! Now, in 2010, we live in a world that is so Sensory Data Rich. What I mean by that is there are so many things flying at as at once, there are so many different decisions we could make, and we have so many options to do things. Because of the fast paced nature of our world, especially our societies, it is my belief that a great majority of people fall into the trap of winging their thoughts! People respond to stimulus in the environment, or something taking place, in a non hesitant, automatic kind of way most of the time. Think about this, do you do that? How long do you think about how you are going to respond? Now, I'm not talking about thinking about every little thing you are about to do, and analyzing it to death, but I am talking about a more effective approach when it comes to your responses to things, people, situations and everything else the world throws at you.

While it is obvious that in many cases, a quick reaction and no hesitation serves us best, there are many situations where our autopilot responses limit us completely. For example: If I told you something fundamental as a tip, such as "write your goals down," you may quickly respond with something like "sure.. that could work but I know what I want." If you give it no more thought than that (which suprisingly is the case with most people), you'll never be able to explore the true benefits of writing your goals down. Unless you apply it, not just once, but consistently, you don't know the true reward of writing your goals down. It actually has a proven psychological effect to be definitive about what you want, and for you to actually extract it from your busy mind of chaos and activity, to put it on paper where you can see it. That alone, is an incredibly powerful thing to do. If I told you that simple and fundamental thing, "write your goals down," and you thought to yourself "hmm, I wonder what that could really do for me, let me try it," you'd be thinking more effectively. You'd be tapping into your innate ability to be intelligent and you'd be on your way to becoming a more outcome oriented person. I transformed my entire life by writing my goals down. Remember, you have to apply something, consistently, until you see the rewards, it gets conditioned (its an automatic thing you do) and it brings you great results. Then, instead of you saying "I know.. write my goals down," you'll FEEL IT IN YOUR GUT. That's when you know it's personal, it's yours, you actually know it.

We are always taking these "thinking shortcuts," as I like to call them, and what they are actually doing is short cutting our lives. How many times have you disregarded an idea or an opportunity that could have changed your life? Most people don't give the situation the chance to do anything before writing it off as something that doesn't matter. In my estimation, the average human being has at least 20 thoughts a day that if applied, and put to some serious use, could change their lives in an extraordinary way. What do you think? Have you ever gotten an idea, or heard something from somewhere that maybe could seriously serve you.. but you didn't think it through long enough to see any kind of result, or even get motivated to try it?

Listen, your life is a decision. A decision to either get shaped by society, the world around you and other people's beliefs, or to take your life as if it was a bull, by the horns, and really control it. Your mind is your most resourceful assest. You can either neglect it and live a basic, head above water life or you can engage it, and create a magnificent experience. The choice has always been yours. Here is your mission: Take this information and apply it immediately. Start thinking things through a bit more, make the decision that you won't just short cut your life anymore and that you will become more of an effective human being, in every aspect of your life. Once using this principle, and being consistent with it, your life will begin to change, trust me. Remember, the outside world, your life, is a direct reflection of the world in which you live on the inside. Live in it well, connect with yourself and think more effectively!
